The Canon was introduced to the US market early March 2009 and has many great features. It is the slimmest ELPH Canon has produced so far but its small body packs a real punch. The term ‘ELPH’, before you ask, is a combination of the word ‘elf’ (for a that is small and magical) and the word ‘photograph.’ Besides being memorable marketing, the use of a non-standard spelling of ‘elf’ makes it a defensible trademark.

The 12 megapixel Canon SX200 IS is one of Canon’s newest point and shoot cameras. It combines a compact design with a 12x - 28-336mm optical zoom lens. It features a high resolution 3.0 inch LCD. It shoots HD video at 1280 x 720 pixels.

As of this month, according to DigitalCameraReview.com, the Canon SX200 IS tops the list as the #1 most popular in its class. This was not even in the top 10 prior to taking the top spot. An amazing leap, don’t you think? Why?

The is a pleasure to , being one of the top performers in the mid-range class of LCDs. It has the standard black casing common to all electronics, and this one has a platinum black color, leaving it slightly glossier. The stem is clear, giving it a more contemporary look, and setting it slightly apart from others on the market. It is an attractive set, even following the trends currently on the market.
